I wish I had seen it before going! From numerous depictions in murals and other works around the site, Tulum appears to have been an important site for the worship of the Diving or Descending god. If your goal is to go to Tulum to experience the ruins and learn about its history and importance to the Mayan culture, I think you will be happy you went.
